Pause for Thought.

It's been a rollicking old time this month on the 'mouthery. So I'm going to take a break for a few days.

Before I take off, I'll leave you with a few random bits.

1) To those of you who are surprised at the election 'result', don't be. Polling always suggested it was close, and with the general feeling being that the Greens were going to pick up a few votes, bear in mind that they were far more likely to nick 'em from the ALP than the Libs.

2) On this day in 1867, French poet Auguste-Marseille Barthélemy died in Marseilles. I first heard of the man about five minutes ago when I picked his name at random from a list of people who died this day in history. Here's one of his poems. The woman reading it could be talking about turnip and marzipan casserole for all I know...but it sounds lovely.

3) Tame Impala - Solitude is Bliss.

This is the best Australian band I've heard for years. With thanks to Belinda who introduced 'em to me...and it's for my friend Chris.

À Bientôt.
