"For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up." - Hosea, 8:7 (KJV)
Not long after arriving back from our mini-honeymoon earlier this week, I was informed of a new case of potential plagiarism from Harvest Rain Theatre Company. In the images above, similarities can clearly be seen between Harvest Rain's promotional photographs for their upcoming production of Hairspray, and promotional photographs from the Broadway production. The similarities were first noticed by performer Samantha Turk, who shared them with Adam Brunes, marketing manager for La Boite Theatre Company. I saw Adam's share on Facebook and soon after, acclaimed playwright Matthew Ryan and Queensland Theatre Company's artistic director Wesley Enoch had re-posted the images. Wesley's posting in particular was responsible for prompting much comment about alleged practices at Harvest Rain.
