Leaving Home, Going Home.

"Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious as to have friends at a distance; they make the latitudes and longitudes." – Henry David Thoreau.

Moving from one country to another is a big deal. I've done it before. Admittedly I was seven months old and don't remember a damn thing about it but...I've heard the stories, man, it's a big deal. Tonight I'll be flying to Houston, Tx by way of Dubai. It's a long flight. 30+ hours.

A lot of people think I'm moving today. While the long term plan is to make a move to the US, I'm traveling on an ESTA waiver so will be coming back in February. Notice how I only put one l in 'traveling'? I've been thinking a lot about that kind of stuff lately. Pounds instead of kilos, organize instead of organise, feet instead of metres, meters instead of metres. In the space of a few days I'll go from being a competent speller to a poor one. Sort of.

Bigmouthery will continue in America. The map of the trip has been charted only as far as the initial destination, so I'm sure there will be some surprises in store. I'm looking forward to my first Thanksgiving and my first winter Christmas. I'm looking forward to being back in a country that makes sense to me. And it goes without seeing that I'm looking forward to seeing Mrs Bigmouthery for the first time since June. She'll be happy to see me, too, because I'm bringing her a bunch of her clothes with me.

If you need to contact me, I'll be accessible via FB and email.

Be happy, enjoy Christmas and crush the Saffies.
